The restaurant A Minha Avó (My Grandmother) was born in Lisbon from the vision of two long-time friends, Pedro Mourarias and Gustavo Grilo, united by their love of food and their ethical convictions about veganism.
The idea emerged during the pandemic, with the clear objective of demystifying vegan food through traditional Portuguese cuisine. Initially launched as a takeaway and delivery service, the project quickly gained success, proving that it is possible to recreate classics such as Bitoque, Francesinha, or Duck Rice without using any animal ingredients, while maintaining the comfort and familiar flavor of "grandma's cooking".
A Minha Avó's mission is inclusive: to provide delicious dishes that can be enjoyed by everyone, vegan or not, and to show that 100% plant-based cuisine is rich, varied, and welcoming. This ethical and innovative vision made the restaurant a natural partner of Save & Care, demonstrating its commitment to animal welfare beyond its business.
